Position Highlights:Dual Setting: Balance of hospital-based care and outpatient clinic responsibilities.

Clinical Duties:

• Evaluate new referrals and manage follow-up visits in the outpatient setting.
• Perform inpatient consultations and daily rounding.
• Support coordination and discharge planning for electrophysiology procedures.

Focus Areas:

• Arrhythmia management, cardiovascular risk education, and patient-centered care.

Inpatient Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient EP consultations and daily follow-up care
• Evaluate and manage patients with atrial fibrillation, SVT, ventricular arrhythmias, syncope, and other rhythm disorders
• Collaborate closely with EP physicians on care planning and clinical decision-making
• Assist with care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education
• Review telemetry, ECGs, labs, and diagnostic studies relevant to EP care

Outpatient Responsibilities:

• See new and established EP patients in the clinic setting
• Conduct post-procedure and longitudinal follow-up visits
• Manage antiarrhythmic and anticoagulation therapies under physician guidance
• Provide patient education on arrhythmia management, procedures, and lifestyle modifications
• Coordinate care with referring providers and other cardiology subspecialties
• Assist with device-related patient care, follow-up, and coordination with device clinics
• Participate in quality initiatives, workflow improvement, and program growth
• Accurately document all clinical encounters in Epic in accordance with regulatory and billing requirements

Scope of Practice:

• Conduct thorough physical exams and health assessments
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testsDevelop and implement patient care plans
• Provide patient counseling and education
• Prescribe and manage treatments
• Document clinical findings accurately
• Participate in pulmonology consultations as needed

Qualifications:

• Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current licensure in Virginia (or ability to obtain)
• Prior cardiology experience required; EP experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Excellent communication skills with patients, physicians, and staff
