About this Program
The minor in Data Science will provide students with the fundamentals of how to manage, model, and visualize data responsibly. With interdisciplinary approach, ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s program gives students broad knowledge of Data Science as well as marketable data skills that can be applied to fields of interest.

Requirements
For completion of a minor, a student must have a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in all courses specified as a requirement for the minor exclusive of prerequisite courses and complete a minimum of six hours in upper-level courses in the minor requirement through courses offered by Old Dominion University.

Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
