About this Program
Old Dominion University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in career and technical education with a major in marketing education. Marketing education is a critical shortage teaching area in Virginia. Marketing educators teach a variety of marketing courses including marketing and management, fashion marketing, sports and entertainment marketing, travel and tourism, hotel/motel marketing, internet marketing, personal finance, and more. Marketing education includes a three-pronged approach to education, and includes classroom instruction, work-based learning, and DECA, the career and technical student organization. Marketing educators work with local employers in the afternoon, and often travel to a variety of conferences around the country to participate in DECA.
