Old Dominion University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. This program requires a secondary application process. Admission is considered based on GPA, healthcare experience, letters of reference, and an interview. Observation in a nuclear medicine technology department is highly recommended. Candidates must meet the physical requirements to perform the job duties of a nuclear medicine technologist and meet all requirements set forth by clinical sites for direct patient care.

Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists. Subject patients to radiation.
