Are you ready to share your research and engage in thought-provoking conversations about international politics in the digital age?

The Graduate Society for International Studies (GSIS) at Old Dominion University is excited to invite you to participate in the GSIS Annual Graduate Research Conference 2026, an event designed for emerging scholars like you.

This year鈥檚 theme, Digital Sovereignty and Global Governance in the AI Era, explores how technology and artificial intelligence are reshaping power, policy, and international relations. As artificial intelligence reshapes the foundations of international relations, states and non-state actors are grappling with fundamental questions about power, autonomy, and governance in an increasingly digitized world. This conference seeks to generate broad conversations on the past and future of international politics and societies, including but not limited to how emerging technologies are transforming traditional notions of sovereignty, challenging existing international institutions, and creating new fault lines in global politics. While research on any aspect of international studies is of interest, we particularly welcome interdisciplinary research that addresses the geopolitical implications of AI development and regulation, the role of technology in shaping state capacity and citizen rights, competing models of digital governance across different political systems, and the ethical dimensions of algorithmic decision-making in international affairs. Organized by graduate students from 黑料正能量, the conference offers a platform for you to present your work, gain valuable feedback, and connect with peers across disciplines.
