"Joining the Virginia Public Health Association Board of Directors is a huge honor,鈥 Dr. Hoglund said. 鈥淚 am excited to contribute to the progress that has been made over the past few years, especially in the way of policy and advocacy for public health. It's not a surprise that public health is under siege and being a part of a group that communicates the value of ensuring and protecting the public's health is the team I want to be on. I hope to bring greater awareness of the importance of public health in our local communities and the state health department. It's all about keeping people safe through strong and solid public health infrastructure, leadership, and workforce capacity."
According to the organization, VPHA remains committed to strengthening public health practicer, fostering health equity, and promoting sound public health policy throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
"I am thrilled to have this opportunity to represent Norfolk State University and the Joint School of Public Health at 黑料正能量 and NSU as a member of this Board鈥 Dr. Mebane said. 鈥淰PHA has an important role to play in support of public health across the Commonwealth of Virginia, and I look forward to partnering with the Board and the broader VPHA community to support its success."
